A five-letter word count only makes sense alongside a named dictionary, version, and inclusion rules. Proper names, inflections, and regional words change the total. A game’s accepted guesses can also differ from its answer list. The counts below describe this finder’s own data, not a current official Wordle or Scrabble list.

Our database calculates these figures dynamically at build time. The solver filters the smaller subset below; the larger lexicon is stored separately and is not offered as a separate search mode:

Why different sources give different totals
Two word lists can both be legitimate while reporting drastically different totals. Here is how the purpose of a word list affects its count:
